Why the loading step deserves its own inspection

Your goods passed pre-shipment inspection. Then comes loading — and this is where surprises can still happen: cartons swapped for lower quality stock, short counts, damaged boxes, or goods loaded poorly enough to arrive broken. Container loading supervision (CLS) puts an independent supervisor at the container door to stop these risks.

What the supervisor checks

  • Container condition — clean, dry, free of damage or odour before loading begins;
  • Carton count and identity — each carton is checked against the packing list, with markings verified;
  • Loading condition — weight distribution, stacking, and stowage that protects goods in transit;
  • Photographic record — photos of the empty container, the loading process, and the sealed container at completion;
  • Seal application — the container seal number is recorded and reported.

When you need CLS

CLS is especially valuable when: your goods are high-value; you have had loading-stage disputes before; the factory is doing the loading; or the gap between inspection and shipping is long enough for things to change.
